With the #29 pick the Phoenix Suns select Liam McNeeley from UConn. He will be going to the Hornets as part of a trade.

In an amazing bit of info McNeeley's pick was the 4th player taken in the first round of the NBA that played on the same high school team. That is unreal! The 4 players were Flagg, Queen, Newell, and McNeeley they all played for Montverde Academy. In case anyone wonders they did win the national high school championship. lol

ABCs coverage is terrible and ESPNs isn't much better.  Bordering on unwatchable. Guessing ABC at least took Stephen A's phone away from him so he can't play solitare. Sad as it is, ESPN jus

This is THE major issue with the NBA draft.  It is really hard for fans to get excited about the draft when you know going in that the name called will never play for your team.

With the number 5 pick in the draft the Utah Jazz select Ace Bailey from Rutgers.

Here is a question I have for anyone who knows more about basketball than I evidently do is how in the world did Rutgers with two top 5 lottery picks finish at 15-17 and 8-12 in the Big 10. lol

With the #10 pick the Houston Rockets select Khaman Maluach from Duke, who will be going to the Suns as part of the Kevin Durant trade. Khaman is the 3rd Blue Devil taken in the first 10 picks.

Experience is more important than one and done talent in today's NCAA. One and done is over as far as winning NCAA titles. Duke had so much talent it was silly, Yes they made the Final Four but come on, how do they not win it all with that much talent. Same reason why Cal is coaching in Arkansas now. The portal and NIL have made experience the winner over one and done in the NCAA.

This is the first draft since the 2021 draft that the Cats did not have a player taken in the first round of the draft.

Plus they have two more players that will go in round 2 in Tyrese Proctor and Sion James. Not sure if James will be, but I look for Proctor to go fairly early in the 2nd round.

Monteverde isn't really a high school - it is a college prep school that gets players from all across the country. Their 2019-20 team had 7 NBA players.

I know that but they won the National High School tournament with the other schools in the country like they are. It is still impressive to have 4 be first round picks.

With the first pick of the 2nd round and the 31st pick overall the Minnesota Timberwolves select Rasheer Fleming from Saint Joseph's who will be part of a trade with the Phoenix Suns.

Even the desk crew is pointing out how absurd it is that no one is making their own pick.

Also, less Monica McNutt and more dead silence.
