4th Region Off-Season Discussion Hub

For two straight years, the team entering the postseason as a strong favorite failed to cut down the nets. This time it was Bowling Green making the (slight) surprise in a postseason run, going all the way to the Sweet 16 finals before finishing as runner-up to Great Crossing. The Purples made it three state title appearances for the region in the last four years. This year on the surface has some appearance as a transitional year for some programs, but perhaps there are players on the move that will change the equation….

* How will Warren Central respond to their surprising flameout down the stretch? What will be the health of Armani Byrd? And who will find their way to the Dragons? Word is Kaleb Prince, from Warren East, already has. 
* The Purples graduate almost everyone who saw significant floor time last year. Will the Purples really be looking at their first down year in ages? Or will we see some players gravitate to the program that has strong momentum?

* Clinton County returns a strong nucleus. Losing Young is a big blow, but only two seniors depart. Can the Bulldogs make another push like they did this year?

* Graduation hit a lot of the other teams hard. Should anyone else be in the mix for a title run?

Never too early to start thinking about next year right @DragonFire!

Central will always have a solid team as long as Coach Unseld is on the sideline.  I don't see that changing next year.  I'd say a few more gravitate to Morgantown Road before next year and Central is still the favorite next year.

For the Purples, only (he will be a Junior for next basketball season) G Arlando Davis really played with the 6 Seniors who logged all the minutes last year for the Purples and with that said he only had 58 points ALL Year, so there is little to no production returning for the State Runner-ups next season.  There are some solid players coming up, but they are young and unproven on the varsity level and would need some time IMO to get up to that speed and BG would very likely take some lumps along the way.  Will be interesting to see how Coach Sherrill brings that group along.  Will a few transfers drop in?  Who knows.  In this day and age, I suppose it could, but could also not happen.

Clinton County impressed me last year.  Yes, they played a thin schedule, but when they played BG for the Regional Title it was a real battle and, in another game, could have knocked off the Purples.  They are well coached and think they will have another great year over in Albany.

I'm interested to see how Greenwood and South Warren develop over the off season.

With BG likely down (especially compared to last season), could either of these teams make a Region run?  Better strike while the iron is hot Gators and Spartans!!!!  Going to be interesting!

Warren Central got a couple from Greenwood pretty sure.
