This is my first call for possible wintery precipitation accumulations. There will be a short cut off both north and south of the snow field. So some may not see any accumulations. Those on the southern side of the field look to see all rain. That depends on where eventually the 540-546 transition zone sets up. North of the 540 line will be all snow. In between, there will be snow and possible freezing rain accumulations. South of the 546 will be all rain. These totals will change depending on where the tract of the storm eventually sets up.

 

I thought I would pop in and show what the GEFS Ensemble is showing. The first one is showing the chances of greater than 1" of snow accumulation. It is a pretty good bet that most of Kentucky north of the Cumberlan PKWY will receive more than 1".

 

 

The second one shows the chances of greater than 4". This area is from around the I-64 corridor southward to a line from around Elizabethtown through Pikeville.

Snow has started here in Richmond.

 

Just steady rain so far in Somerset. Northern part of the county looks to be getting some wintery mix now, according to radar.

I just measured the accumulation, so far we got about 4 inches and still coming down pretty well here at my house. I live in Richmond.

Maybe 2" so far here in Louisville. Roads are fine though, just wet. Only accumulating on grassy surfaces so far. 

My unofficial snowfall total at nWo manner is 6 inches. We should see a couple more hours of snow here before the change over to rain.
