Gallatin Co 69 LCA 60

thanks true blue & gold

Spilly, Tough as Nails said that Gallatin was without the services of one of its players today. Do you know anything about that?

The Wildcats were at full strength today.

How did Gallatin look, who were there top scorers?

Gallatin shot 60% (24-40) for the game and 68.2% (15-22) in the 1st half. Cody Perkins had 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Nate Edmondson had 15 points and Scott Brown added 10.

Just a complete team effort by the Cats again with 9 players hitting the scoring column. Even though the Cats had the hot hand on offense their defense, especially in the 1st half when they led 38-24 was excellent.

Anyone?

Edmondson, Jones, and Perkins are the only ones who do not play.

I agree Gallatin played a balance all around game, and stuck to their game plan. For LCA (my team as noted above) you live by the three you die by the three. From inside the arc 17 for 24 (71%) from behind the arc 7 for 32 (22%). Again I wish the best to Gallatin and good luck against Bishop Brossart. I thought Cody Perkins played great and was player of the game, but I was VERY IMPRESSED with Scott Brown's defensive pressure, it kept LCA off center (pun intended) all game. Someone "fun" on here will understand the humor there.

LCC should be commended. They fell behind early but never and I mean never gave up. Super effort on their part and I wish the players and coaches nothing but great success the remainder of the season.

Gallatin is a fun team to watch. they really pass the ball well. When LCA went to their press GC did a great job of throwing over it and getting many 2 on 1 breaks. GC milked the clock to perfection with great ball movement. This TEAM is making some noise in Richmond. Nice Game Gallatin!:thumb:

Gallatin played a solid game today. Excellent defense on a team that shoots 45% of it's shots from behind the 3 point line. Nice job for Coach Jones to switch up the defense often, keeping LCA off balance a bit.

Great win Wildcats!!!!!

Gallatin will have their work cut out for them with Brossart. They did play Shelby Co. to overtime and Brossart did get upset by Pendleton Co.

Should be a great game. If you want to hear it, both Gallatin and Brossart will have their broadcast teams on site.

The Gallatin County Wildcats have gone further than last year's trip to Richmond with a 69-60 win over the Lexington Christian Academy Eagles in the first round of the All "A" Classic State Tournament. It was a 22-11 burst in the second quarter that lifted up the Wildcats to a 38-24 halftime score. LCA tried to make it a ballgame by hitting a total of 7 three pointers. They came into the game shooting 45% of their shots from behind the line. the 7 represents 21% shooting from behind the line as they took 32 shots from 3 point range. Cody Perkins and Nate Edmondson paced the Wildcats with 15 points each.

Scoring by Quarter:

LCA: 13 11 13 23 - 60

Gallatin Co: 16 22 11 20 - 69

Individual Scoring:

Cody Perkins - 15 points

Nate Edmondson - 15 points

Scott Brown - 10 points

Jared Carlton - 8 points

Taylor Jones - 6 points

David Henson - 5 points

Trent Maddox - 4 points

J.R. Davis - 4 points

Josh Giles - 2 points

The Wildcats will take on the winner of the first game this morning, Bishop Brossart from the 10th region. Game time at 5:00 with the broadcast pre-game at 4:30. The Wildcats hit the 20 win season goal with the victory, pushing their record to 20-3 on the season.

The Cats also had a 25-2 explosion to go from down 8-13 to up 33-15.:fire:

Need to take better care of the ball. Stop unforced turnovers. Do this and they could be playing log into the weekend.

A lot of passing turnovers in the paint. 4 in the third quarter early. SEemed like every trip down the court thee for a while. I agree, take better care of the ball

Anyone?

Henson,Brown,Carlton, are also very good football players!
