Union County Braves 🏹

2024 Outcome: 12-3, Class 3A Runner-up

2025 Outlook: The wrestling school in WKY has made tremendous strides to amend that reputation with 45 wins in the last four years.

No player has done more to put Union County football on the map than Jarren Johnson. Someone else will have to wear the cape as the Braves’ mighty mouse is moving on, along with a good chunk of production from the top of the defense.

🎓 Jarren Johnson (ATH) | Amare Black (DL) | Kamden Davis (DE/LB) | Caiden Broadus (OL/DL) | Coltin Capps (DB)

🔙 Abreyan Fletcher (RB/DB) | Willem McPeake (RB/LB) | Luke Thomas (WR/DB) | Cortayvion Rapier (OL/DL) | Caedyn Word (OL/DL)

Johnson's exploits overshadowed Fletcher and McPeake, who will form a formidable twosome in the backfield after rushing for 1,100 yards last season. They'll shoulder a heavy load, as both should double as defensive leaders, as well.

Rapier and Word will anchor the line of scrimmage, opening and closing holes as needed.

Derek Johns has built a perennial winner in Morganfield. The departure of his superstar suggests a step back, but 3A is wide open after CAL and the foundation Johns has laid is solid.

A follow-up run to Lexington might be asking too much, but don't be surprised to see the Braves threatening another ten win season and late November push.
