This is a strange week for the NFL beginning on Thursday night with I think a potential for a really good game between the Broncos and Chargers. Then in  bold move to show we are the king of all sports they are having two games on Saturday afternoon going head-to-head with 2 of the NCAA College Football Playoffs. The reason the NFL had to do this was because they wanted to continue to play on Christmas day so under the collective bargaining rules with Christmas falling on a Wednesday this year they had to have games on Saturday. The same 4 teams that play this Saturday will each turn around and play of Christmas Day.

The Saturday games have the Texans at the Chiefs kickoff is at 1:00pm then at 4:30pm the Steelers at the Ravens. Then they just flip on Christmas day in week 17 with the Chiefs at the Steelers at 1:00pm on Netflix and the Ravens at the Texans at 4:30pm also on Netflix.

The Sunday games of interest at 1:00pm on CBS the Browns vs. Bengals; Eagles at Commanders. The rest in the 1:00pm slot are pretty weak unless one is your team. In the 4:00 & 4:25 window not much there either you have Vikings at Seattle and 49ers at the Dolphins. Sunday night has Buccaneers at Cowboys. A weak Monday night game as well with the Saints at Packers (maybe it will really cold and snowing for some entertainment) lol 

At the half Denver leads the Chargers 21-13. The half ended in something that had not happened in the NFL in almost 50 years. On the last play of the half the Broncos punted, and a Denver defended ran into the player calling the fair catch. It was a 15-yard penalty and moved the ball from the Charger 38 to the Broncos 47-yard line. The Chargers had a choice to run an untimed play or do a free kick from the line of scrimmage due the fair catch interference penalty. It took a timeout by the Chargers and then one from the Broncos. So, the half ended with the Broncos defense not being allowed to try and block the kick. There was no snap the ball was teed up at the line of scrimmage and the kicker just walked up and kicked it from the line of scrimmage (47-yard line) and kicked a 57-yard FG instead what the normal would have been a 65-yard attempt. It was good to make the halftime score it was wild to see.

Chargers have come back to now led the Broncos 34-24 with 1:26 to play with a Broncos loss that is the best scenario for the Bengals playoff chances. The Broncos have the Bengals and Chiefs left where if the Chargers lost they have games with a 3 win and a 2-win teams in the Pats and the Raiders.

Chargers recover the onside kick to secure the win at 34-27. We are still alive now we have to take care of business and defeat the Browns on Sunday!

That was a good NFL game period but helping the Bengals made it even better, especially for a Thursday night game. 

First game today between the Chiefs and Texans has been a good one so far. The Chiefs led 14-10 with 2:00 left to play in the first half.

Better for the Bengals chances if Chiefs lose - keep #1 seed up for grabs and make Chiefs play their starters against the Broncos.

Chiefs win #14 to go to 14-1 with 27-19 win over the Texans. It is kinda of an interesting stat that in this era of high-flying offenses the Chiefs are now 14-1 and have not scored more than 30 points in any game this season.

On the other hand the Bengals have scored over 3o points 6 times this season and in those games they are 2-4. Shows defense is still an important part of the game.
