That would be a big blow to Stoops' rebuilding efforts.

Just feeling the program has lost its’ mojo lately under Stoops.  Transfer portal, NIL, the huge assistant salary pools needed to stay competitive staff wise, and tons of other off field admin challenges just seem to be too much for his appetite.  When it gets this heavy maybe he’s banked enough to ride into the sunset.

I get the feeling he and Barnhart are in a showdown.  Stoops wants X amount of money to ride into the sunset...Barnhart is willing to watch Stoops tear down his own legacy with his price tag.

Losers are the fans, but in this portal age...it's not as long a process to rebuild if Barnhart is wainting Stoops out.
