Ironton 58 Russell 46

Back to the game. I did not get to attend but listened on the radio. It sounded like a typical Russell game. Get everything going in your favor and then get out hustled and out executed down the stretch.

 

I think this team has the most talent in the region without a doubt but they seem to get complacent when the get a lead or know they have an advantage.

 

Ironton is always a tough place to win but failure to get rebounds when the other team is shooting free throws would just seem to indicate lack of effort or focus.

 

Blair played with the flu but that is no excuse. Somebody has to get Gill involved in the offense if this team wants to repeat as region champions. There are too many games where he seems to be forgotten.

I've only seen Russell once. They had the game vs. Mason County won but missed too many free throws down the stretch.

Gill is a GREAT athlete, but I wouldn't let him shoot the ball from farther than six feet out in a close game.

16th looks right now to be a 3-team race (Russell, Elliott, APB), with Rose Hill on the outside looking in.
