I think he has an argument IF you believe LSU and Bama are heavyweights, that is, good enough to make the West formidable with any other conference. Arkansas is also capable of making the tournament. That would give the SEC 8 tournament teams, counting 5 of the 6 teams in the East (assuming Vandy and Georgia continue to play well and Carolina does not). Hard to think any other conference will get more than 8 even including the Big East with its 100+ teams.
