Holmes, with a young roster coming off a 3-28 season, has opted out of varsity girls basketball competition for the 2024-2025 season and will play exclusively freshmen and junior varsity games.

When this class, the class of 2025, was in middle school the girls team lost in the finals of the NKYMSL Region in 6th grade and lost in the semi-finals in 7th grade...so unfortunate that they don't have single junior or senior playing.

I’ve learned that middle school success very rarely translates to varsity success, but your point remains.

I would like to know how many of those girls are still enrolled at Holmes. That seems to be the biggest problem is keeping teams together and kids in the district.

That is most definitely a huge issue.

Yes

I feel badly for India Tye, she is a very nice player.  Hope she rips up the JV circuit.  Such an easy kid to root for.

She is enrolled at Mason County is my understanding,  they also had a senior that wa not going to be able to play because of concussion protocol.
