Brossart wins the "Battle of US 27" renewal for the seventh straight time.

This was a contentious game for the first 7 minutes when the Mustangs took advantage of Pendleton County turnovers, scoring on two occasions, leading 13-0 after one period of play.  We followed up with four more scores in the second quarter making it 42-0, sending the second half to a running clock which was contested by the majority of the Brossart JV Team.  We did score one additional touchdown in the third quarter, making the final score 49-0.  

Touchdowns by Nick Cozzi (2), Cam Mandel (2), Joe Schroeder, Landon Geyer, and Nate Geiman.

Brossart hosts Bellevue next Friday night in the first round of he Class 1A playoffs.

Hey Mustang, What do you think of Brossart’s chances getting past Bellevue next week? 

If Brossart gets past Bellevue and NCC wins against Trimble it puts the teams on a course to play their first varsity game against each other.  Would finally get a chance to see what each team is made of.  Not many are talking about it yet, but I am sure it is on the mind of the players and coaches.

It's been a while but they have played before.  It was back in the dark 2A days and it was one sided to say the least.  I'm sure both sides are well aware.  

Obviously, I stand corrected. It must have been in the early years of Brossart football. Sorry. 

Per KHSAA - they played every year 2011- 2014- back when Brossart was thrown into 2A.

Brossart's first varsity year was 2007- so the program was still coming together when they got moved to 2A- a move that almost caused the program to fold. Thankfully, they had a core of players that stuck it out.

Very thankful, as program seems to be doing well since back into 1A. 

Very lopsided scores- hopefully this time would be more competitive!! 

We were in the same spot last year.  Trimble had forfeited to the Breds.  Brossart played Dayton, while anticipating that second round date with NCC, but a funny thing happened on the way to the NCC game.  We were "upset" by Dayton, so we are taking nothing for granted this year.

2011, 2012, 2013, & 2014. All four were running clock shutouts.
