This is one of the marquee matchups of this week. 2021 this game was close, 2022 was a blowout win for the Broncos, and 2023 saw Station hang in there but never really able to strike enough to keep it within wraps of winning.

Bryan Station is winners of four straight and sit at 4-3. The latest was a 38-3 clock runner over district foe GRC. Kalen Washington leads the way for the defenders with 800+ yards this year and at least 8 TDs. James Davis gets better every week at Q and is also the second leading rusher for the Defenders. They have a stingy defense that is led by Keelan Adams with 47 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, and 2 sacks.

Douglass is currently sitting at 4-3. After a close game with Male, the Broncos had a dog fight with Madison Central which saw them hang on to a 21-14 win. TayTay Allen had 108 yards on 11 carries, and Peyton Smith had 64 yards on 10 carries with 2 TDs. They ran for 202 but uncharacteristically gave up 217 on the ground in the win. Cedric Works had 13 tackles and a TFL in the win.

Can Station finally get the win over Douglass, or do the broncos have too much horsepower in this one?

Series History: Frederick Douglass leads 6-0 all-time | The Broncos won 34-13 last season.

The Broncos are 6-0 vs. Bryan Station all-time and Douglass outscoring the Defenders in those 6 games 229-40. Douglass will put their now 30-0 record vs the other 5 Lexington public schools and a 32-0 record vs. all schools in Lexington. As we all know nothing always will stay the same and are records are broken at some time. The question is will this be the year? One thing is for certain Coach Hawkins has definitely turn the Defender program around while they still have never had a one score game vs. the Broncos since he has taken over the program the games have been much more competitive except for the Broncos undefeated 2022 season. I think if it is the Douglass team that played vs. Madison Central this past Friday or the one or that continued to turn the ball over vs. Trinity or even the team that took their foot of the gas in the 2nd half of the Manual game then yes this could be the year that the streak ends. However, if it is the Douglass team that played Bowling Green, Corbin, or Male then I think the streak will continue until next season unless they meet a Lexington team in this year's playoffs.

This game as it has been for I believe the past 3 seasons will be a Saturday game with a 12:00pm kickoff. The game will be on NFHS Network as well as Gilcod.

Douglass 27-22.

Remember everyone, Noon Saturday, this is our special treat this week.

Looks like the Broncos are as close to 100% as they will be any point this season.

Looking forward to seeing how Bryan Station approaches defending their QB against CJ Works Jr. Also, SR. Ish Naji is expected back at the other DE since being injured in in the X scrimmage as well.

The Defenders SHOULD challenge the Broncos secondary early and often though. That's been the weak spot this season.

Douglass needs to keep penalties to a minimum,  and convert their 3rd downs. IMO, just RUN THE BALL. That crowded Bronco backfield needs touches all day.  The streak continues! 28-14 Broncos.

FD made BS punt and FD has the ball at the BS 42.

Both teams have a lot of pep in their step today.

Douglass in the Station redzone but now face a 4th and 7 fron the 7 and are going to have to attempt an FG.

Douglass got down to the 7 or so and kicked a FG.  The Bronco kicker is a beast man.

3-0 Douglass.
