2024-25 Saint Xavier Tigers

Featured Replies

St. X was 30-4 last year and lost to Seneca in the 7th Region tournament. St. X will be deep this year and will play fast like last year to wear their opponents out. Over the summer they beat Great Crossing in overtime twice with the ladder in the championship of the large Collins summer tournament. This should be St.X best chance at winning a state championship in years but the road won't be easy as 7th Region foes Male and Trinity look very good as well. I highlighted all the players numbers who are returning in the photo below. They also added one of the top freshman in the country who led Shawnee in scoring as an 8th grader last year with Josh Lindsay 13.5 ppg. Once the full schedule is out I will post it.

Looks like a very challenging schedule. The California tournament has 80 teams from 15 states.

They could write a really cool story after the ending from last year.

Wild that for all the good teams at X, they haven't been to a state tournament since 1995 and before that, 1969. Speaks to the quality of the 7th Region but also seems like they would have found their way out a few times. Maybe this is the year...

As someone told me recently, they're hard to win no matter the talent level of the roster.

Ballard, Male, and Trinity all usually very good so very tough to get out of 7th Region over the years.

The 1/5 TBD game is a show case at Male and don't know the opponent yet. Probably a Prep school.

Absolutely. Went back and looked at who has knocked them out of the region since their last title in 1995. Ballard and Trinity have both eliminated St. X seven times! They have one loss against Central, Eastern, Fern Creek, Seneca, and Waggener.

I've learned Henry Peters who was a big man off the bench is no longer at St. X since he moved to California.

Thanks, @Tigerpride94. Was wondering how things went yesterday in that scrimmage between the Tigers and Purples. Season just weeks away. Can't wait for those seventh region battles. That rivalry game between the Rocks and Tigers included.
