Class 4A
1. Boyle County vs. Russell County
2. Paducah Tilghman -- OPEN
3. Franklin County vs. 5A Southwestern
4. Corbin vs. Letcher County Central
5. Covington Catholic -- OPEN
6. Ashland vs. Boyd County
7. Johnson Central vs. Rowan County
8. North Oldham -- OPEN
9. Allen County-Scottsville -- OPEN
10. Bardstown at John Hardin

I know most of the buzz in 4A is Boyle, and it's well deserved. Tilghman has the pieces to maybe make some things happen also and they've got a lot of attention also.

Franklin County seems to be flying under the radar and that is a really, really good team. I believe they can make a run also, it just seems like they don't get talked about enough.

4A is just so deep and good. Who the heck wants to play Corbin in the playoffs? You can go on down the line, this class is something else.

The same with playing CovCath and maybe even Ashland.

To me Franklin County is the team to watch.  I think they are the one unknown.

Here are the TP94 Power Ratings, after Boyle it gets interesting.

Boyle County         107.78
Paducah Tilghman         95.44
Franklin County         90.47
Ashland Blazer         87.37
Covington Catholic         83.14
Corbin              82.55

CovCath hosting Ashland is a possible second rounder. If not Ashland, then a Johnson Central team that's steamrolling opposing defenses right now. Regardless, it'll be one of the more hyped up second round games this year.

You know this is a bruiser of a class when JC, owners of multiple state titles and several finals appearances in the last decade, is #7.

I do think there's a little separation after JC back to 8, 9, & 10.

The second round always delivers some Gems.

4A is an absolute monster right now, especially in the top 6-7. I think plenty of teams wouldn’t want to play just about all of them unless they had to.
