The scheme gave up 17 points against the top rated offense in the state but I understand some people are just “glass empty” people!

Did you forget the long run right before the half?  That occurred because of defensive scheme in not setting the edge.  Has nothing to do with player talent or the class that they are in.  Many times on deep balls to middle of field the safety was a left on and island and if they go the wrong way then it is a long gain or touchdown.  My glass isn’t anything.  Just tell it as I see it, just like after Male scrimmage I stated that this team had the talent to compete for the state title this year while many others were saying a year away.  Also said the Dixie game does not have to be a blowout to prove anythin as a win is a win and gets one week closer to the playoffs.

I see now. The Highlands defensive scheme was not to set the edge. I understand now.

With Cooper having a great QB and WR's, there is no reason to only rush three D linemen.  I rush 4 D lineman every play and blitz once in a while. You just can't let a QB of his talent have all day to scope the field.  This loss is on the coaches. Proud of the Bluebird players!!!

I will say this. In the first matchup last year Highlands did try to bring pressure and they gave up 50 points and all kinds of explosive plays in their high scoring win. In the playoff game last year they only rushed 3 and was a low scoring game. Then only rushed 3 in this one and slowed down Cooper enough to have a shot. Even though the weather did probably help some too. So over the last 3 games the rushing only 3 for Highlands has worked better than the game where they rushed 4 and blitzed more.

IMO both are really good teams, and both coaching staffs do a good job with their teams. Which back to this game I think Highlands win by a good margin.

Birds are down to about the 13.

TD Birds, this is going to be a running clock.

28-0

35-0 Bluebirds.

1140 left in the first half.

42-0, late in the 4th.

Highlands scored on a TD pass with 148 left in the game.

49-0 Birds.
