Everything else is the same 5 days before the season ends or at the end of the season. With a week left and no hopes of the playoffs, I don't care if the team finishes at .500 or 5 games under. 

I guess the team value entails more the future than the present ice water drenching that the organization has no sensitivity to act humanely with dignity and some degree of sensitivity to loyal employees.  How this affects the organization’s reputation in attracting free agents, your own player’s future contract negotiations, and desire to be part of a culture disseminated from the top.  Just my opinion that those 5 days gained zero organizational positives.

I thought that Jason Williams' comments in the Enquirer yesterday were totally off base.  Managers and Coaches need to be held accountable.  When you tolerate mediocrity year after year, something needs to change, if not simply for showing a desire to improve yourself.  I doubt anyone wants him.

I've hated us washing 70 players through the clubhouse year after year, and I think that eventually they are going to have to form a nucleus of a team, stick with it and build around it. 

Being the Number 43 Media Market in the US, and being owned by a vegetable salesman does not help.

I also blame the press and media who raise unrealistic expectations year after year.  It is what they are paid to do, BUT Cincinnati fans tend to believe them, which leads to one disappointing season after another.  Why can't we just let the team earn our adulations, and not bestow it on them before they have accomplished anything. 

I’m with you on just about all of this.   Sometimes I get the feeling that management would rather be mediocre than be champions.  The reluctance to make aggressive moves costs money, I guess.
