Beechwood goes on the road to visit the Simon Kenton Pioneers, 7 pm kickoff. The Tigers come into the contest at 3-0 with wins over two 5A schools and a 6A school. Simon Kenton suffered their first loss of the year last Friday, with Covington Catholic clubbing the Pioneers 42-3.

Bad news for the Pioneers is that Beechwood put it all together in their 41-20 win over Dixie Heights. The Tigers shut down the Dixie offense and stud running back Armani Gregg. The Tigers shifted their own running game into high gear behind their big offensive line and tough, strong running by Chase Flaherty. Not to be outdone, the Tigers passing offense showed off their skill and talent. QB Clay Hayden threw 4 TD passes, three of them to Luke Erdman. James Cusick caught a TD pass, ran 51 yards for a score from punt formation and made tackle after tackle from his safety position on defense.

Simon Kenton took a step back with the loss to Covington Catholic after opening the year with two wins. QB Brady Lee not only put up big stats passing in the first two games, he also was the team's leading rusher. WR's Grayson Harris and Tyson Weaver have been Lee's top targets this year.

Can the Pioneers rebound from their first loss and upset the Tigers?

Hopefully SK can get things going against Beechwood. They flat out played terrible against CovCath.

This should be a pretty good game like last year.

Based on the first two games for each team, this was looking like a good matchup.

Based on last week, not so much.

Which teams show up and how do they match up?

I am seeing that BW followers appear to be abnormally more low-keyed this year before games?  Could it be?
1).  Modest/quiet confidence and not wanting to appear cocky?
2).  When you got the horses and are playing against the big boys, you recognize that every season could be greatly impacted by just one unfortunate injury?         3).  The desire to be classy and not wanting to jinx the Tigers?
4).  Just keeping the powder dry until the real enemy gets a little closer?
Just wondering?

Not before the game but I love talking my fair share of s#!+ during the game! Especially when we get that ball throwing around. I hope it’s a game like last years match up. I think my favorite game last year was at Dixie.. That was a back and forth high scoring amazing game

Beechwood wins 31-15
