Game never was really in doubt.

We must have watched two different ballgames.

 

If the game was really never in doubt I'd have been back in Alexandria a half hour sooner.

 

When Augusta closed to 32-31 (or something in that neighborhood) I thought that Augusta had the momentum to go on and win, but Bracken County was up to the task and turned them back.

 

Augusta made several mini-runs down the stretch, but Bracken County managed to prevail.

 

Good game, good atmosphere!

I was a little upse t to get one here and see this. If Bracken Co. deserved to win it then why did you cheer for Augusta. Or are you saying they deserved it because your son didnt play because it seems like if your son dont play you dont cheer. I think also you are the only one in Augusta that wants them to win it now, at most you should be hoping that brossart smashes them. I mean if you really do have A-town Pride.

chosen1one....i am sorry if i upset you. i cheer for augusta because i love augusta basketball. in no way am i saying that augusta didn't deserve to win because my son didn't get to play. i knew he wouldn't get to play last night, so why did i go to the game? because i am a panther fan! saying that i hope bracken wins tonight only means if we couldn't have been in the final and win, that i would rather bracken win. i did not mean to offend anyone by that, plus if bracken wins tonight against bb and we only lost to bchs by 3, then we could have won. which only makes our team look better, because if bracken beats brossart, then we to could beat brossart. i know we can beat bracken, and it will happen when it most counts. it was a great game last night and i think every augusta fan is proud that we came so close, i know i am. i have been to all the games and i cheer no matter if my son plays or not. i hope this clears some things up, that is the downfall to a forum like this...people read your words and take it how they want, not necessarily how it was intended. i only meant to be gracious in our defeat, and nothing more.

Nice win for the young men from Brooksville. Coach Fite did a nice job last night on the sidelines Good Luck Against Brossart. Any updates on Hamilton will he play? They really need him if they have a chance at upsetting Brossart GOOD LUCK POLAR BEARS !!!!!!!!!!!

If it means anything, having seen probably three-quarters of the region in person thus far this season, I'd put Hall as quickest I've seen and Tyreese Scott second. Haven't had the privilege of seeing Silver Grove yet though.

Game never was really in doubt. Not the barn burner that I expected. Groves has a nice shot for Augusta and should always be their go to guy. White has been very disapointing this entire season,has lost quickness and at times in the past had been unstoppable against certain teams,but not anymore

 

This team doesn't have a go to guy. If any body it is Staggs. It was Hardymon, but he hasn't shown up much this season.

Once again another close game between these two schools. Amazing atmosphere last night, both crowds really into it. The deciding factor in this game was Jesse Hall and the Panthers lack of a half court Offense. Granted Bracken's "D" played outstanding in the first half with a lot of pressure, but the Panthers had multiple cutter open in the lane but failed to make the pass in there or failed to even see the man standing wide open 5-10 ft. from the basket. The third quarter started as if Bracken was going to put the game away, but the constant effort of Augusta got that back in the game. The tempo really sped up in the 2nd half and allowed a lot baskets in the open court for Augusta. But then when they cut the lead to 1 they went away from what got them back in the game(moving without the ball and getting into the lane). Illadvised three's began getting jacked up from everywhere which allowed quick run outs for Hall to score or dish to someone for an open score. Another key point was a stupid intentional foul by Steven Cummings which ended up being a 4 point swing from a 3 pt. lead to a 7 pt. lead. A play a senior should no better than to make. Cooper had a career day for Bracken and T. Hamilton showed incredible heart continuing to play on that injured ankle. Staggs, B. Hamilton, and Mofford all had good games on the inside again for A-Town. J-White had a solid game but nothing spectaculer. But they desperately need better play from the wings. Its been a story of two halves for the Panthers all season. They seem to only show up for 16 minutes, or else believe me this team would have about 15 wins right now.

So your telling me that he is quicker than Pelle? Pelle would eat him for dinner. Knowles and Miller would tear im apart, and I'm sure there are more.:laugh:

Bracken struggles against a zone but they hit big shots early and forced Augusta to turn up the pressure which plays to J Hall's advantage.

 

Augusta still continues to fail in finding a rythm in the first half. When Hardymon is not on, they can't get going in the first half. He needs to step it up and show what he is capable of. A good scorer needs to get going by taking high percentage field goals to begin the game.

Josh White has lost a step as someone said before. But, before you start dogging the kid let's look at this on a wider scale. He's the only one on the team that can handle the ball under pressure. White never makes a bad decision on offense. He's always on the floor after loose balls and takes at least one charge a game. And he's the team's best defensive player. He's a born leader on the floor and if weren't for him when Augusta finds themselves down ten at halftime, the team would fall apart and get blown out of the gym. He's a very intelligent basketball player.
