Final. #1 Trinity wins the 7th region and improve to 36-4 on the year and the Tigers finish the season at 24-16.

Trinity plays Pikeville at 1:30 pm Thursday in the first round of the state tournament in Lexington.

Tigers were able to keep it close after a rough start, just could never get into a grove with the bats. I think St. X coach mentioned this in post game, Tiger batters didn’t seem to be very aggressive against a very good pitcher; a lot of watching pitches. But Trinity took care of business against the Tigers which has been a common theme this athletic year.

I know baseball is different than other sports and it’s one and done now but it’s going to take a Herculean effort and performance to beat it his Trinity team.

Pikeville will come to play, should be a good game. For a small school, Pikeville is solid at every position.
