Butler vs. Franklin County Predictions/Updates (KHSAA Girls' Sweet 16®)

This is the afternoon game of the girls state tournament that tips off tomorrow at 1:30. This game is between the Butler Bearettes (27-8) take on the Franklin County Lady Flyers (30-6). This will be a game that puts size vs. quickness. These two team did not play during the regular season but they do have 1 common opponent in a very good Frederick Douglass team. Franklin Co. defeated Douglass by 7 at 53-46 in the 11th region championship last Saturday. Butler has played Frederick Douglass twice this season winning both games the first one was 66-51 and the 2nd one was 61-44.

Have seen both of these teams in person multiple times, I'll be really surprised if Franklin County doesn't win by 6-8 in a low scoring affair.  Both have some high-end talent, but I like Franklin County's bench / depth more, and very few coaches in KY get the nod over Coach Thacker in a big spot.

Franklin has not scored since under two minutes in the first quarter. The good thing is that Butler has only scored 4 points. Franklin is 2-19 and Butler is 4-15 and 2-10 from the line.
