JJ Redick...

Featured Replies

It is obvious that his pro career has started off in a disappointing fashion, but he is starting to get more and more minutes...I hope he is a solid contributor by the end of the season. Last night he had 13 points in 21 minutes and was 3/4 behind the arc...he says he is feeling the best he's felt as a Magic...here's to his continued improvement.

Hate Duke, but for some odd reason love Redick. We all know he'll never win any mvp's or maybe not even crack a full time starting lineup, however, I look for him to have a long career as an outside assasin. He could be the reincarnation of Dennis Scott down there in Orlando, and they haven't had anyone who could fill it up from outside in O-Town since Scott, so Redicks destined to be a long time favorite for the Magic, regardless if he ever starts or not.

I loved Redick and all but he is not going to be much of a NBA player. He is lights out, but he is to short to be an NBA shooting guard and he could never be a point guard. I hope he would do good but I think all the playing time will he see is when they need the 3 ball.

^ He is 6'4"

I know this, I would say the average SG size in the NBA is 6'6"

^ I bet not...there are shorter ones that certainly buffer the average to be around 6'4" or so.

Shouldn't that be Magician? :D

Its not that he is to short. Hes not very athletic and a step slow for the NBA level.

Kerr was quick and was a true PG.

Either way, he's one of the smaller ones. He's certainly a great shooter, one of the best actually. But I had my doubts about his pro career the day Dookie V stated that he would be an instant success.

It's not that he's too short or too unathletic. He's a Tweener. Not quite big enough to be a 2G and too slow to play point. If he was 6'7" he'd be very good.

Both significantly better ball handlers than JJ who played more of the 1 than the 2. JJ could work in the right situation. That situation is not the Orlando Magic. They have an already undersized PG in Nelson. JJ could work with a team that had a larger PG who could defend the other team's SG and JJ maybe cover the opposing PG(although he is going to struggle athletically having to match up with most PG's too).

You guys are funny. Kerr and Paxson were undersized, slow by NBA standards and both had very good careers. It's like we are ignoring his improvement while at Duke on D and handling the rock. This isn't 18 year old JJ...
