Elder (OH) 60 Cooper 28

Featured Replies

I've watched my share of games at the indoor version of "The Pit." It's tough for an opposing team to come away with a win.

The Jags will have another battle on their hands with St. Xavier (OH) on Saturday at Newport's John Turner Classic.

Not surprised here by the score. The Jags are short-handed but help is on the way as the 6 football players return to the hardwood after finishing their run to the state championship. Additionally two of the current starters are out due to injury.

These two teams have battled hard over the last several years and it’s always great to see them at full strength fighting to the end. Cooper will look immensely different in another 3 weeks or so.

Congrats to Elder who always fields a tough team.

I believe Cooper’s football guys played but with it only being their first game back it will take them a few games to get back into it. Johnson not playing hurt Cooper a lot.

A few, not all, of the football guys played having not picked up a baskeball since June and having half of one practice. I will agree that not having Johnson is huge as well as the older Pouncy but he should be returning very very soon!

This team will look totally different come mid-late January and the best coach in the 9th will have his team ready come tourney time so if teams are going to get Cooper they better do it now while they're wounded because like I stated, they'll look and be playing differently in the not too distant future.

I agree 100 percent. Cooper has a few of the best players in the region and a lot of depth to go with it. From what I’ve seen so far this season it looks as if Johnson has made major improvements in his game from last year to this year. Having him playing at the level he is will help them tremendously.

No Yamil on the stat sheet either.

Good to know, thanks!

Many KY schools aren't tied into OH/GCL databases. I would expect Cooper's KHSAA stats to be posted, if not today, tomorrow.

Rough shooting night on Vincent Ave.

Looking forward to seeing Cooper with their full compliment of players
