A lot of preseason love for Highlands and not a lot of mention at all for Dixie.

I think 5th through 8th or 9th will be fluid, but I am mildly surprised by this outcome.  Especially that HHS only managed 32 points.

Could be a numbers issue? Two 8th graders on Highlands 10 girl Varsity roster. It looks like there are only 18 players spread over the Varsity, JV, and Frosh teams.

Highlands was a complete mess.  You expect that early season with lots of young players.  Last year they were young, but now it seems they got even younger.  Dixie, well I walked away thinking they have a chance to be a lot better than expected.  Their youth is exciting and they have some upper classman that have clearly stepped up.  They missed a lot of shots that will be different once some players settle in. They aren't Cooper or Ryle, but could they be  at the second tier, maybe? 

Here is who is gone from last season since you had 2 expected departures with the Harris's moving away so you had Allysa graduating and then Adrienne not graduating but moving with the family.

You then are missing your last years complimentary players:  Juniors Ella Cox, Ellie Mohr & Maddy Elkins and Soph Nat Hinegardner (who I believe is concentrating on her soccer talents).  In comes then to replace the depth 2 outstanding 8th graders Gabby Neufarth and Maren Orme to pick up the slack.

Looks like some growing pains will be felt this year getting some experience with this younger than usual group.....

Going 5 for 25 from 3's also is going to hurt......

O and I forgot to also mention I think Junior Aubrey Barrett just injured her knee at the end of Preseason practice.....I don't know if she is out all year or what, I forgot what I heard.....Ugh!!!

Injuries STINK!!!  I hate to hear that, Frank, hope Aubrey is on the mend.
