The Dragons welcome Taylor County to town on senior night.

This has been a very good and entertaining game the last two years and I expect more of the same this go around. With that said, the Dragons have played the worst two games of the year in consecutive weeks, if that continues, Taylor may win this one going away.

Taylor County is going to come in and run the football, and they run it well. They are led by all around player Payton Smith, who is a threat to score any time he touches the ball, he’s averaging over 10 yards a carry. The offensive line is anchored by UK commit Hayes Johnson and they get after you.

The Dragons are much more balanced, but running the football is still the engine that makes them go. I expect the Dragons to mix up the pass and run against Taylor, and try and utilize the ability to spread Taylor County out and move the ball quickly.

The last two weeks have left me somewhat less excited about the chances the Dragons have winning this game, but even more so about a deep playoff run. Hopefully the Dragons right the ship and get it headed in the right direction this Friday. Unfortunately I’m not sure the Dragons pull this one out.

What’s your thoughts on this one?

The last time TC played Green County on the Dragons’ senior night it was 2017.

TC came in with a 7-2 record and a share of a 4A district title. Green was last in their district with a 3-5 record. All signs pointed to the Cardinals getting a running clock on their way to a victory. The Dragons had other plans though.

In the most miserably cold, sleet, slush, and snow weather that you could imagine; the Dragons exclusively ran a jumbo wildcat set and scored 30 points on their way to a two point win. Andrew Mosby toted the rock a whopping 34 times for 180 yards in his last game at home.

I know some coaches from that TC team that still talk about how brutal that loss was.

This will be a close game I feel. The emotions are gonna be high. Taylor is tanleted. Probably home of one of the best backs in the state. 2024 class of The Dragons are a very tanleted class. This one could go either way. Give me Green by 2

If Green County pulls this off and some other things happen they could pass Lex. Christian in the RPI. Which is crazy but there is a slight chance of this happening.

If Smith stays healthy - Taylor by 14.

It’s 6-0 Taylor.

TC has scored 2 more times both called back on holding.  One was about 2 seconds after the TD on a ref 30 yards behind play.

Taylor co out walking the dog tonight.

Green didn't show up to play. Taylor is swallowing them up.

Half 35-0 Taylor and could be worse.

Let’s just say it like it is, this is three weeks straight the Dragons have been non-existent and just walking through the motions. The Dragons just haven’t been good at all. This week, the Dragons just ran into a team who had the athletes to run with them.
