Class 2A

1. Beechwood at Archbishop McNicholas (OH)

2. Mayfield vs. 5A Graves County

3. Lexington Christian Academy vs. 5A #1 Bowling Green (at WKU, 8/19)

4. Owensboro Catholic vs. 5A Apollo

5. Breathitt County vs. 3A #4 Belfry

6. Shelby Valley vs. 4A Letcher County Central

7. Green County vs. 3A Garrard County (at Lincoln County)

8. Somerset at 4A Perry County Central

9. Walton-Verona at 1A Bishop Brossart

10. Crittenden County at 3A Webster County

The big 4 at the top.

I'm pretty Certain anyone from 5-10 could beat each other on any given night, and 1-4 are quite ahead of the rest at this point.

Mayfield, to me, is a clear #1.  Experience and speed EVERYWHERE.

LCA with their transfers is a close #2. Boley is a beast!

I half a step down is #3 Beechwood. I still see them going back to Kroger as the path in the East is easier than the West.

OCath is 4 but have not proven to be playoff worthy in a while.

Couple steps down is 5-15 and can go in any order.

On paper, that is how it looks. But Beechwood hasn't been the favorite on paper the past few years either. It makes sense for Beechwood at #1 to start. Three time defending champ is #1 till it is clear they aren't. With the schedules the top teams have, we'll know pretty quickly who has what.

Agree 100%.  Just seems like they lost several key leaders and the change of tenure is my reasoning for #3.  Also, I do believe they will be there at the end and that is all that matters.
