I think Ludlow has a chance to win their district for the first time since 1975 I believe.

I also believe Newport though is a very interesting team to watch. They always have the athletes and now being in 1A. I could see them making a run in the playoffs, similar to what Lloyd did last year in 2A.

Campbellsville had a Pikeville-esque number of kids on their sideline during a couple scrimmages. I’ve heard from a few reliable sources that they look very good.

As a dark horse, I like Paris.  They return some explosive players from a 2022 team that was dangerous.

Campbellsville is absolutely loaded. They returned almost everything from a very good team last year, and have one of the best freshman classes I've ever seen at Campbellsville. They are fast at every position and if the line play is even decent, they are going to give any team they play trouble.

Ludlow's first, last, and only district title came in 1975.

The standings in 1975 (remember, not all district games had to be played back then):

  1. Ludlow (3-0; 9-1)
  2. Carroll County (3-1; 9-2)
  3. Bellevue (3-3; 6-5)
  4. Beechwood (2-3; 5-5)
  5. Trimble County (1-2; 5-4)
  6. Dayton (1-4; 3-8)
