January 16, 200719 yr I believe that AI said he used it for elbow soreness, though I am quite sure it has more to do with their opinion of aesthetics.
January 16, 200719 yr Iverson claimed to wear his because of an elbow injury, due to hitting the floor so often. If the players you saw wearing it tonight were guards or players that spend a lot of time on the floor, instead of their feet, that could be why they had them on. That said, they probably wear them because they think it looks cool.
January 16, 200719 yr I used to wear something similar as a youth but it was neoprene. I had Elbow surgery and it would keep my joint warm. But like stated above, probably stems more from AI and "the look".
January 16, 200719 yr It is for elbow soreness, I wore one almost all of the time in high school on my pitching arm because of tendonitis. For me, it helped with the swelling in my elbow.
