The final round of the 2023 Clark's Pump-N-Shop Baseball State Tournament presented by UK HealthCare concluded at Kentucky Proud Park on the University of Kentucky campus in Lexington on Saturday.

Whitley County earned its first state championship in school history with a 2-1 victory over Shelby County.

The Colonels are the sixth school from one of the four current Eastern Kentucky regions (13-16) to win a state crown, joining Prestonsburg (1948), Ashland (1966, 1967, 1968), East Carter (1984), Paintsville (1990), and Boyd County (2001). Head coach Jeremy Shope gets his first title after twice finishing runner-up at Mercer County.

Yes, but I also looked at the over all schedule as well for all of the final 4 teams. Baseball is a funny game. One team can  beat one 15-0 in a game and then  the other team can reverse that if they play again.
