US Department of Justice Announces Findings in LMPD Probe

How many Chiefs has LMPD had in their 20 years?

Not sure if that's the issue here, but departments with heavy turnover at the top seem to always have "culture" issues.

Too many... I want to say at least four or five.

That sure doesn't help steady the rudder. Hard to rein in everything when the leader keeps changing. With that much turnover you end up with infighting between divisions instead of a cohesive team. Each division leader is more worried about looking good and possibly moving up than doing what's right. That's not just law enforcement but it's a problem any place that has constant turnover at the top.

Maybe LMPD needs to take their training out of house. You have to wonder about their training and the culture being developed when training new officers at their own academy. DOCJT in Richmond trains the vast majority of officers in the state, maybe LMPD needs to use it for basic training of their officers.

I could not imagine being a chief or high ranking official of one of these massive departments. It is not about policing but rather implementing policy of higher ups and getting pulled in different directions.

In short what I always hear is they (meaning the person in charge) all get tired of it.

I can't imagine the life span of any police chief is very long.

A select few were put on Earth for the job but most of us minions just try to survive.
