Trinity 51 Saint Xavier 41 (7th Region Quarterfinal)

Featured Replies

Trinity played better on defense than the Tigers in a low scoring game. Trinity was up 27-14 at halftime and Trinity continued to keep the pressure on in the 2nd half. Trinity will play Manual/Cal winner. Tigers finish the season 18-14.

X had some good shooters but Trinity was much more athletic.

Not so sure.

I can see the Jackson kid being a force in a few years, but the other kids will have to improve significantly to make a big impact IMO.

Time will tell.

I think they will be improved next year but I think they are two years away from really having a shot a region title.

It seems the last few years they have had success at the freshmen level so we'll see if that success can translate to success at the varsity level. They were very young this year so I'd imagine the season went as expected for the coaching staff if they're being realistic about their expectations. It has been a very stagnate program over the last decade if not more. The next three years will be telling to see exactly where this program is heading because of the young players they have. Will they continue to be a team/program that can stay within 10 points of the Trinity, Male, and Ballard's but not really threaten them or can they take the next step and prove they can be a real threat in the region. As a program they have to find a way to be a winner and not just part of the top region in the state.
