January 13, 200719 yr Buike will be a beast in the NBA before it's all said and done, write it down. He already has the body, athletic ability, and shot. He just needs a little time to get used to the NBA offense and flow of game. Next season will be his breakout season. He has the ability to become another D. Wade type of player. Not that Im saying he will, but he can.

Wade is and always has been alot better at getting to the basket than Buike and Wade is one of the best players in the league and can carry a team on his back. I just cant see Buike being able to do that. Buike however will be alot better shooter from the 3 point line than Wade...

Buike can get to the rack just as easily as Wade does, he just doesn't do it often enough. Once he learns that is what he needs to do in the league, he'll do it with ease. He will be a much better NBA player than he was a college player, write it down.

Im sorry Wade is known for being one of the best players in the NBA if not the best at getting to the basket. So I disgree with you completely that Buike can get to the rack just as easy as Wade can...And your not going out on much of a limb there saying he will do better in the NBA than in college, because in college he never did quite play as good as he could have been. So its pretty safe to say that he will do better in the NBA now...

He is taller than Wade, has more muscle, and is more athletic, so why couldn't he get to the rack? I agree, he hasn't shown it in the past, but that doesn't mean he can't do it.

I agree, he hasn't shown it in the past, but that doesn't mean he can't do it. Will you please show me where I ever said that Buike cant get to the rack? Because I think you will have a hard time finding it...What I said was commenting on your post where you said that he can get to the rim just as easy as Wade could and that is just not true. There is hardly any in the NBA that can get to the rim as easy as Wade does...Yeah Buike is taller and stronger, but that doesn't mean he can get it done as good as Wade when it comes to getting to the rim. Also Buike is not more athletic than Wade... Dont get me wrong I would absolutely LOVE to see Buike do as good as Wade has in the NBA but I dont see it happening. Its just a bad comparison, because Wade is one of the top 5 players in the whole NBA, and you are comparing Buike to him when Buike didn't even get drafted and played in the NBADL league for a year and a half. No doubt Buike has gotten better and I believe he will have a very good NBA career, but you comparing him to Wade and saying he could do the same things as Wade can just as easy is a very bad comparison and you really should get off of that...

I stand by my statement. He CAN become a Wade type player if he is given the chance.
January 14, 200719 yr No, he won't; one game does not make a career; even Shawn Bradley scored in double digits in a game or two. Rajon cares about Rajon too much. Why do you think it took injuries for him to get significant playing time? Because he's a rookie? Because everyone knew he was being drafted on potential, not what he could already do? Just a couple obvious reasons.
January 14, 200719 yr Because he's a rookie? Because everyone knew he was being drafted on potential, not what he could already do? Just a couple obvious reasons. Ignoring a couple of other obvious ones: He can't shoot outside of 16 feet and he can't make free throws-2 musts for an NBA point guard.
January 14, 200719 yr Ignoring a couple of other obvious ones: He can't shoot outside of 16 feet and he can't make free throws-2 musts for an NBA point guard. That's part of being a rookie, and having potential. Nobody said he was immediate impact.
January 14, 200719 yr I stand by my statement. He CAN become a Wade type player if he is given the chance. Come on now. If he CAN be a Wade type player dont you think he would have been given the chance last year? There must be a reason why it took him a year and half to get to the NBA. If he had the ability to be a Wade type player he would have been playing last year. You said he can get to the rim just as easy as Wade, but Buike just decides not to do it as much. If that is true then that is very STUPID. If he had the ability to get to the rim as good as Wade every time then he should be doing that like Wade does all the time. But wait maybe the reason he dont do it all the time is because he is not as good as you think at getting to the rim. Im not saying he cant get to the rim because he can, but your comparison to Wade is just way off. As I said I think Buike will end up having a VERY NICE NBA career, but just comparing him to Wade is not a good comparison...

Not while he was in high school and even a good portion of his college career. He learned what he needed to do to be a star, and it has worked for him. While at UK, Tubby was constantly telling Buike he needed to be more agressive and take it to the rack. When Kelenna did this, he was pretty much unstoppable, having the best games in his career. He just didn't do it often enough. Kelenna's game has changed a lot since he left UK and I think he realises what he needs to do to become a star. While in the NBADL he took the ball to the rack more than I have ever seen him do so. Which allowed him to lead the league in scoring and also earned him a better than 50% FG percentage. And yes, I know the DL is not the NBA, before you dismiss everything I just said. However, it's obvious that Buike is playing a much more agressive style of ball than he did while at UK. Have you watched him play lately?

Yes I have watched him play lately, and I agree he does play more aggresive now than he did at UK, and thats a good thing. I dont know if you realize that Buike was my favorite player while at UK, so I do want him to do great in the NBA. But I just dont see the comparison to Wade at all. Two completely different players in my eye. Wade uses his ball handling skills and quickness to get to the rack and finish. While Buike realize more on power to get to the rack. Wade is arguably the best player in the NBA at getting to the rack, yet you wanted to say that Buike can just as easily get to the rack as Wade can. Just the whole comparison to Wade is not a good one IMO,and there has to be someone else in the NBA that is a better person for you to compare Buike to than Wade, because that comparison just is not there...
January 15, 200719 yr If only Buike could have had more students around the court while at UK, he might have been able to get drafted. It would have made him a much better basketball player and we wouldn't even be having this discussion.
