Owen County 62 Simon Kenton 51

Featured Replies

Wow, a big game this week that I looked over due to the North Oldham and Collins game. This was a huge ramp up for both teams heading into the postseason. Owen County picks up another big win, and their resume continues to look better.

Owen County ends the season 23-7, and will play the winner of Carroll County and Trimble County in the semifinals of the 31st District Tournament.

Simon Kenton falls to 19-10 to end the season, and a fairly poor end to the season. They will face Williamstown at home in the 32nd District Tournament with an appearance to the District Championship and Regional Tournament on the line.

I believe that puts him ahead of pace to break the 8th Region all-time scoring record. As long as they win their first game (I do not see any chance they lose), it is almost certain that the 50 year record will be broken this year!

1-9 when giving up 55 plus. Yikes!

Unrelated but does anyone run up the score like south oldham?  Three 50 point wins. And 4 more 35 plus. That’s almost half of their seasons wins by over 35. Seems likes a lot…

That being said- playing some good ball!

I wouldn’t consider it running up the score, they shoot a ton of threes. With that you will have blowout wins when they are hitting, and I’m sure those blowouts begin very early in the game. Along with those blowouts, they will also be blown out a lot and lose some games that are unexpected due to bad shooting nights.

Also, if you’re relating to the Carroll County game, the Panthers just are straight up not very good. Check their score against WV just a few nights ago…. WV was up 70-19 or something like that at halftime.

Ward, Shelton, and Mefford will have to show up at regionals to make a run at the Roy!

Owen should seriously consider using the Beckham kid that transferred from Gallatin earlier in the year and I believe he finally got cleared to play about 3 weeks ago because adding him to play with Moore,Ward and the rest of this team would be huge going into district’s because this kid was a varsity starter for Gallatin and is a very nice all around player and shoot’s extremely well beyond the arc so Owen could be a very dangerous team if they utilize him!

I know Carroll isn’t very good. I guess they just chose to play a bunch of Carrolls this year….fun…

All that I know is that he transferred from Gallatin County mid-season where he was a starter going into the season. He played one game for GC this year and scored 8 points on 10 fg attempts.

I am not sure on the reason of the transfer, but he is not on Owen County's varsity roster.

Yes he is a sophomore got quite a bit of playing time last year with Gallatin under coach Sullivan,he shoots the ball very well and plays very good defense and watched him play summer ball as well and I believe I heard coach Sullivan state he was the highest percentage shooter on the varsity squad and he was a Gallatin starter going into this year and something unfortunate come up week 1 of the season and he had to move so it took most of the season for khsaa to clear him to play but should be really exciting to see what coach Devall can do with this kid!
