We’re matches played last night or cancelled due to weather?

if played, does anyone have access to score lines?

St. Henry and Pendleton County was the only game played yesterday.  I wasn't there but I know St. Henry got the win.

Holmes/Villa Madonna and Simon Kenton/Bishop Brossart have both been moved to Monday night.

Boone vs Scott game has been canceled for Friday.

The other game times that have been changed are posted on an earlier comment in this thread.

Holmes has a really nice venue for games. I really liked how they have BULLDOGS shades across the field.

Cooper/Dixie Heights - Cooper s obviously a different team from last year as is Dixie, but Dixie was by far the better team.

Ryle/Highlands - I don’t believe Ryle had all 11 starters on the field. Highlands looked ready and have good size down the middle of the field. Highlands was the more physical team it seemed to me. If you don’t know…Ryle has some speed on their team.

Dixie and Cooper both lost a great deal from last year's seniors, more so Cooper, and I wasn't at their Soccerama game, but I was surprised by the margin for Dixie.  I expected Dixie to get a narrow result, but 4-0 was eye-catching.

Thanks for the updates / info @kyag.

Beechwood 2-0 Walton

Conner 1-1 NCC

Villa 1-0 Holmes

SK 2-2 Brossart

Some additional results. Please correct if I am wrong.

As far as I know that is correct.

Beechwood controlled the game vs Walton.  I think Beechwood could've scored 1-2 more but the ball ended up sailing over the goal and through the uprights a couple of times.

NCC scores off a throw-in that was mis-played by the young Cougar defense and NCC scores with a nice finish from the right side of the goal.  Conner had a few chances in the 1st half to tie it but couldn't convert.  2nd half, I think the game was pretty evenly played.  Conner had a few chances again, but NCC held.  NCC went to the bench earlier than Conner did and the young Thoroughbred players held their own.  Conner subbed out their seniors, but with about 30 seconds left on a corner a couple of seniors are subbed back in and Conner scores off a header with 19 seconds remaining to tie the game.

I heard Dixie JV beat Boone County 1-0 on Monday and I was wondering about the SK/Brossart game so thanks for updating @2 much info.

Now that Soccerama is completed, any surprises moving into the regular season? Good or Bad?

I thought the Brossart and SK match up was a good one. Both teams seem to have quite a bit of talent this season.

Are we sure that it was Dixie's JV team playing Boone? With what Dixie lost last season, I figured they might have quite a big drop off this fall.

I did not get to see the Highlands/Ryle or CCH/Campbell game. Are these 3 9th region teams the heavy favorites going into August?

I think Highlands and Ryle are the two "heavy favorites", and behind them Dixie, Cooper, Conner, and CovCath....probably in that order, although the jury is out on Cooper a little, so I might flip them and the Cougars.  I don't expect this to be one of CovCath's better teams, and I think Dixie is going to be much better than you intimated in your post...as we saw at Soccerama in soundly beating Cooper 4-0.

However, at the end of the day, I think HHS and Ryle will be a deserved #1 and #2 all year, and if the bracket cooperates, that will be a great 9th Region Final.  I give Dixie the best chance to crash that two-team party.

My apologies, I over looked the Dixie/Cooper result. I only saw Monday make up games, and didn’t realize Dixie ended up playing twice in the event. I only got to see Dixie play Boone.

This is how I would rank the top of the 9th today with intra-tier rankings:

Tier 1: A) Ryle, B) Highlands

Tier 2: A) Dixie, B) CCH, C) NCC, D)Conner

Tier 3: E) Cooper

Interesting.

I know many teams took the opportunity to play every member of the team. It looked like CCH subbed every 10 minutes or so.

As I didn’t get the opportunity to see all of the games, I’ll reserve judgement for now.

Either way, the 9th region never fails to disappoint.

It may be fair to throw NCC and Conner in the third tier with Cooper.

I don't have many sources in or around the CCH program and am eager to see them compete.

It seems like CCH always finds a way to be ready for October. So I’m sure they will be right in the mix come that time. They have a strong core of players that have been to the regional final 2 years in a row, so they know what it takes to get there.

Does NCC have a lot of returning players? They had decent results last season 1-1 draws, against good Cooper and Conner teams and only lost to Dixie 2-1. If they have experience coming back I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they make some noise.

I can’t wait for another spectacular season on the pitch!!!

The chemistry being built in the Fort is awesome, really hearing great things this summer from the program.
