Garrard County 66 Danville Christian 62

Final in Berea.

It is so weird how these five district teams matchup against each other. It’s like a game of rock-paper-scissors as to who can beat whom. It’ll all come down to Boyle/DCA next week. If the Rebels win, Garrard gets the three seed. If DCA wins, they’ll get third and push Garrard to fourth.

District tournament will be "can't miss" entertainment!

DCA beats Boyle, Garrard beats DCA twice and Boyle beats Garrard twice.  Go figure.

Setting up to be Lincoln/Boyle again in finals.  Ho Hum.  I think someone said this in Dec… In all seriousness, I do think it will be Lincoln/Boyle in finals but very difficult games to get through!

Lincoln and Boyle will get out just like always.

Always do!  Occasionally Danville sneaks in too!  But for them to win 2 games (1 would have to be Lincoln).  Just don’t see it!  And, I would take Boyle in a head to head with either DCA or Garrard right now.

It's kind of an interesting quirk in the standings: if Boyle plays DCA in the 2/3 game, they're the higher seed but would have lost to DCA twice. If Boyle plays Garrard in the 2/3 game, they have two wins against the Lions but they were the closest two district games by score Boyle played. Very interesting district all around this season.

I got DCA vs Lincoln in the District Championship. I don't think Boyle can beat DCA. We shall see!

I’ll wait to see how next week’s game goes between DCA & Boyle. I need to see Boyle beat them before I can say it’s a Boyle/Lincoln final. I’m not saying they won’t win this time around but am not going to assume they will.

As someone already said, it’s all about matchups. I think DCA presents some issues for Boyle especially when their big man is in the game. If you look at the stats, Boyle doesn’t shoot the ball well from three and the DCA big man, if healthy and able to stay out of foul trouble, changes everything around the basket. Add Dut and Ridge who are both 6’4” or so and Boyd who is a 6’1” PG and they have a significant size advantage at 4/5 positions. If DCA plays a defense that uses that size to their advantage, it  poses a significant challenge for a team who doesn’t shoot well from three.

It should be interesting!

Gap is razor thin.  A lot of my prediction is based on pedigree I’ll admit!

Garrard has beaten DCA twice so teams need to look at how they have done it.   From what I have heard, make DCA beat you from the outside.  Garrard played a zone and look what it got them, two wins.

Garrard also pressed them the whole first half and that's when they were really beating up on DCA. They were up 13 at one point. Up 8 at the half. The second half they backed off of it and DCA just about came back for the win.
