Collins beats Walton Verona 59-40 to give the Bearcats their 1st loss of season- any thoughts here?

Statement win by Collins. Holding this Walton team to 40 points is beyond impressive. Does anyone have anymore details? Did Walton struggle to get shots off or shoot a low percentage?

Walton shot very poorly. I believe they hit only two 3’s and one was once the JV guys got out in. They also missed many shots in close to the goal.  I would be really interested to see the stats from this one. 

Walton was 30% from the field and 13% from three. Also missed a couple front ends from the free throw line.

WV was 15 for 50 from the field, including 2 for 15 on threes, per Riherds

Not an entirely unexpected result, thought I thought it would be closer.

W-V must shoot well, and they faced one of the 2 or 3 best defensive units in the region.    It's hard for anyone to score against the Titans.   The Bearcats can literally beat anyone - they are such tremendous shooters and they wear you down with their tempo - but Collins makes every shot a chore.

The teams that tend to fare better against Collins have strong inside and inside-outside games; W-V is a bit undersized on the inside.

Both teams figure to be a factor come March.

Collins can absolutely defend.  They have 8-9 players that get after it.
