Madisonville 21 Hopkinsville 14

Maroons have a punt return for a TD & blocked punt inside the 10 to set up another score.

The Tigers out gained the Maroons 215-185 but could not get it done.

Tigers drop to 2-5 (0-2 D1) while Maroons improve to 5-2 (2-0 D1). Tigers are free falling and the Maroons set up a district championship game next week at Logan County.

Wow, I wouldn't have picked this.  Congrats Maroons!  But concerned the wheels have come off the Tigers wagon!

Well. I like Warren East’s chances (provided they win the district) in the second round a lot more with this match up than I did with Hopkinsville. Pretty mind boggling score.

This entire season seems like a bust to me for the Tigers.  They lost a lot of weapons last year, a new coach this season, combining in the near future.  Mercer is good; but he is a one trick pony.  Take away the Deep ball and the screen game; they have nothing else around him to hurt you.  Clark is focused on the future and that new school.

I think this just strengthens my argument that combining Hopkinsville and CC will not help them in anyway in sports. Two poor teams are not going to make a powerhouse in 6A like some have claimed.
