A lot of little things to like in that game. Nice to watch the Cats in August.

I am really intrigued to watch Thiero's development over time.

Agreed.  Thiero was a pleasant surprise, especially in limited minutes. He seems like a decent 2-3 star guy a couple years ago that just keeps growing.  I think some Coach Cal connections landed him at UK but he may prove to be much more than expected.  At least based on what I’ve read. Definitely a guy that could play 2-4 early.

Wallace did seem capable of being back up point when needed.  This team is kinda the opposite of last year.  Really front court heavy(NOT including Kingsley) who is a tall defensive body.

Kentucky started out with a really big lineup minus wheeler.  Had Reeves at the 2 who is 6’6 followed by Oscar, Toppin and Collins all around 6’9 to 6’10.  With two of those big fellas having 40+inch verticals.

it’s early and there’s a lot to develop but if you have a center in Oscar that can average 15+ rebounds a game and 2 forwards in Collins and Toppin that could potentially combine to average 10 blocks a game and decent rebounding.  Man UK could be sharp of defense come February.

I didn't realize how tall Reeves was.  He seemed to move well without the ball, especially on the play where Oscar was making a move and he slid from the wing down to the corner and Oscar kicked it for a wide open three, which he hit.

There were a lot of things to like last night but let's keep it in check based on the competition.

Wheeler needs to stay under control this year or he might lose time to Wallace and they got super tall and lengthly.

Another blowout win for Kentucky.  118-56 over Carleton of the great white north (Canada).

The most interesting thing so far, for me at least is how well Kentucky is shooting the ball. Albeit against inferior opponents but they've shot very well.  When you think about the shooters that UK lost from last season in Grady, TyTy, Allen, Mintz and Booker. It's surprising how well they've been shooting.

For some context, Kentucky shot 61% from 3 in the second half making 11 threes, 15 in total for the game.   Booker leaving really opened the door for Toppin and may have been the best thing for all parties.

I wish Keion Brooks Jr. well with Washington but I like the potential for this team now.

Toppin just brings a lot of intangibles. Makes the pieces fit a bit better.

Antonio Reeves is going to see plenty of playing time this season. Kentucky wins final game 98-74.

I had to work during the last two games, but got them teed up on the DVR to watch tonight.
