Bracken County 63 Harrison County 60 (2 OT) (10th Region Quarterfinals)

Featured Replies

Heck of a game. Breds really gassed late. Was unable to capitalize at the line and breakthrough in OT. Blake Reed put on a show in the first half! Hated to see either team lose.

Blake Reed's first half was something else.  But I thought JuShod Commodore played really well for the Polar Bears.

Harrison County left some important points at the charity stripe from the 4th quarter on.

I thought both teams looked worn for sure.  Fun one to watch, though, as you said.  Not the prettiest game, but fun March basketball.

Great/Gutsy call by Coach Reed to hold the ball.  With the Bears foul trouble and inability to stop Harrison in the lane limiting possessions was a great coaching move, maybe the only one that gets BC outta there with a win.

I thought he went into the stall somewhat early, but proved me wrong.

I don’t think it was a good move honestly. They were up 11 when they started holding the ball. Almost lost the game. If they kept scoring very easily could of ended in regulation with a double digit win.

They built the lead with pressure trapping defense not with offense.  In the second half BC struggled to score in the half and they couldn't press/trap because of foul trouble.  Harrison was scoring or getting fouled every trip, even if BC scored some there was too much time left to hold on.  Survive and Advance.

I'm with you. I don't believe that is Bracken's style of play at all. Was successful the whole game until they began to stall. Those boy's like to score!

I’ll Agree to disagree… doesn’t matter in the end, like you said survive and advance!

JuShod was the difference maker, getting lose balls and big rebounds and hitting some 3's.

I agree 100%.  Making the decision as a Coach that you can't stop them and you can't foul anymore and the only way to do that is to hold the ball was Gutsy as Hell.  Think about if BC loses, Reed gets crucified for that decision, maybe rightfully so.

I question the call also, but when they went into the full blown stall they were only up by 4/5 points.  You could feel that Harrison was coming and Bracken was in foul trouble.  If Harrison hits the free shots they win, gutsy call but it worked.

We can use "if" all day. If they lost after stalling, it would be the same, he would be crucified for taking them out of their style of play too early. None of it matters though, they got the W so I can agree that he made the right call and deserves credit! Good, hard fought Win for the Polar Bears.
