There will be a lot of one sided games tonight in the first round of the District, but not between Cooper and Conner... Will it be Anna Hamilton and the surprising Conner Cougars, or the Whitney Lind Led Cooper Jaguar?

Conner lost big to both Ryle and Cooper but made adjustments and later in the season beat both of them impressively.  They are also riding a pretty nice winning streak.  Its a close game but I am picking Conner.

I thought about this a great deal when I saw @Big Redcall for a Cooper win tonight, and honestly, I'm torn.  I've seen both multiple times, and I think Whitney is the best player in the game, but Conner has two players who have been at the top of their game all year.  I tend to think Cooper has more top-line talent with Whitney, Logan, Kay, and Liz, but Conner plays so hard, so together, and I like their top 7 a little more.  The coaching match-up is interesting as well, and I don't see a clear-cut favorite there.

The crowd will be bananas.  Is there a player like Maleah or Bella for Cooper that step up.  Do Conner's "big 3" make a high percentage of their perimeter jumpers tonight as they have this year (Anna, Lauren, and Juliet all shooting 37%+), or can Cooper impact that with Maleah's elite defense taking away one of them?  

I put a little bit of an asterisk on Conner's super impressive win streak because Mother Nature cancelled their game with Notre Dame, but they still have been playing their best ball in the last month.  Cooper lost Liz for quite a while, so she certainly changes things dramatically, but do they have their chemistry back completely?  

My gut says Cooper, my head says Conner, but the good news, we'll know for sure this evening.

My heart breaks for the team that falls short.  Top 4 in the Region, Top 20 in the state, and one of them will lace them up for their school for the last time this year.  Gut-wrenching.  

Yes, I'm calling for Cooper to make a run, which would obviously start tonight.  I do want to reiterate, my thoughts are based 100% on Cooper being that good and talented.  I have not seen Conner, and do not know anything about their players.  

Hopefully someone in attendance tonight can throw some updates in here, even if only quarterly.  Thanks in advance.  I think I may head to Ludlow and SHDHS.

Hey brother, sorry, I didn't mean for my post to seem like I was calling you out, that wasn't my intention.   You had just referenced Cooper making the Region in another thread, so I had a little fun with it -- and it did get me thinking.

I'm still completely torn on who wins this one tonight.

Cooper is playing like we thought they should.  With both Friehofers, they are a very talented team.  Not a shock.
