Saddam Hussein is Dead!!

Featured Replies

Great topic in another thread but from the Christian God, he could have received full forgiveness from all of his sins and now be in Heaven with Jesus if he would ask for true forgiveness from his heart for his sins, acknowledge Jesus as his personal Savior and the Way, the Truth and the Life.

One of the hard lessons of Christianity is that God wants ALL to ask for forgiveness and find their way into Heaven through His Son. Even the Saddam Hussein's of the world.

Yup....and if in God's eyes he was truly remorseful, I would forgive as well.

Maybe I should clarify that it isn't Saddam the man that I felt sorrow for; it was his soul. In life, he wouldn't be someone I'd welcome into my home. I would be fearful for any of my loved ones to be in his presence. I believe the Lord condones the death penalty, and in this case it was more than justified. Again, it was the state of his soul that caused me sorrow.

I have not watched the video. I do not plan to watch it. I still cannot shake this sorrow that I feel over the whole thing. Maybe it is that I wanted him to show some remorse over what he was responsible for, though the chances of that happening was probably minute.

As mush as I hate to say it I think the middle east is more violent now than it was with Hussein in Power!

You may be right. Freedom allows for the posibility of chaos, while oppression will always bring order (after a fashion). However, the price of that "order" is high.

Could be. Or is it the violence is shown daily on television?

It's human nature to place yourself in the person's shoes in seeing something like that. But it's not right to say that it's no different than the heinous crimes he committed. This was the just application of punishment, based on due process of law. His crimes were the acts of a mad man. No comparison.

I didn't mean it that way, in saying the crimes were close in comparision. It's hard to explain. I know he didn't deserve the right to live because of the incredibly sick things that he did, but I just some sort of weird remorse for him. I guess what I was trying to compare is the fact that human lives were both lost, and i feel remorse for that.

Search and you'll find it..Just watched it myself.

I guess the other posts concerning the full video were deleted.. So Im going out on a limb here by posting this, but I think it's safe..

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The prime minister on Tuesday ordered an investigation into the conduct of Saddam Hussein’s execution in a bid to learn who among the witnesses taunted the former Iraqi leader in the last minutes of his life and leaked a cell phone video.

You are correct. The full video is not appropriate this site.

The Iraqi government is pretty torqued about the cell phone video.
