You could say the same for Waltons defense gave up 90 plus the first game held Scott to 53. Either way WV is 2-0.

Exactly.   Pretty hard to score 90+ every night....   ?

Game pace alone - defense or no defense - will also dictate a lot about how many points are scored.

Of course, I didn't see the game, so I really don't know....but W-V is off to a great start.

I see this result as a real positive for WV.  Not that Scott is a world-beating team this year, but now in two games against decent competition the Bearcats have shown they can win a shootout, and they can win more of a traditional game defensively holding a team to 53.  Bodes well for their ability to win games versus a variety of opponents.

6 players out of the 8 or 9 in the rotation just started practicing after Thanksgiving due to football making the 3rd round of the playoffs. Tough schedule early while getting in basketball shape can make for a rough start.
