What needs to be done about all of the "Injury" stoppages that seemingly only hit defensive players?

It's getting worse year by year and week by week.

Sitting the rest of the series seems fair.

Two minute warning.  If occurs in last two minutes - out for remainder.

So who monitors the players required to sit out? Maybe after 3 injury TOs lose a timeout or a 10yard penalty? Of course that flys in the face of  "player safety". Difficult problem to solve. Criticism whatever rules committee would decide.

I don't think you can limit it or penalize a team for a player getting legitimately injured. I think all you can do is sit that player out for something more than just one play.

If the players team at any point takes a timeout, then that player would be eligible to return immediately.

My only question is how long is fair to players that actually are hurt and need to go out for a little while being long enough to deter flopping just to stop a clock?

While I hate the flopping, I don’t think you change how long someone has to sit out. Keep it at one play, but allow “injuries” to be reviewed and assessed a penalty if necessary.

We’ve all seen a player just fall down out of nowhere with a mysterious injury… Those are the cases that need attention.

How can you review and tell if cramps, pulled muscle, twisted ankle are legit or not? I know some look bad, but even some of those are legit injuries.

That’s the problem.

I know I’ve seen a few instances when a player has looked to the sideline and then fallen down. It would be a slippery slope, for sure.
