Congrats to Coach Wallace in Class 6A District 3!

First of all, congrats to all coaches and players.  With that being said, sometimes these awards leave you scratching your head and they make no sense.  I'm not trying to take anything away from any of the winners, but simply trying to draw attention to some of the others that didn't win, but were without a doubt, very deserving and should have.  How can Coach Holcomb not be named Class 6A District 8 coach of the year?  He takes a 1-8 team that finished dead last in their district to a current record of 10-3 & a spot in the Class 6A semi-finals.  He might end up being the coach of the year in all of 6A, but he can't win it in his own district?  There are a few others, but that is the most glaring to me...other than Coach Wolfe not winning coach of the year in Class 6A district 4.  Sorry, just because Male is supposed to win doesn't mean he shouldn't win the award.

Congratulations to all of the players and coaches selected. Also, thank you to Jimmie Reed for his continued service to KY HS Football, players and coaches.  His efforts are a difference maker and has elevated KY HS Football. 

Over the past several years, our KFCA has established a Mr. Football, installed an Elected Council, made it abundantly clear that coaches & administrators across the state are opposed to the current playoff setup, and played a season in the middle of Covid (2020). Very proud of our organization and our coaches across the Commonwealth.

Johnny Hines will take over as President of the KFCA after the 2021 state championship games. Best wishes to Coach Reed, Coach Hines, the KFCA Elected Council, and the KFCA for continued success!

These all seem strange to me it seems like they went out of their way to not pick the obvious. A coach or player shouldn’t be punished because you win the district every year.
