gchs_uk9 Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Really exciting ball game in Lancaster last night. Rockcastle County led 7-6 at halftime and score again to push it to 13-6 early in the fourth quarter. Rockcastle chose to go for two to make it a two-score game but Garrard stood up the Rockets receiver at the goal line. Garrard then marched length of the field and scored on a 29-yard touchdown pass from Tavey Quisenberry to Maishaun Baker. Quisenberry scored on the two-point conversion to give the Golden Lions the lead, 14-13. Rockcastle then used a late, long drive in the fourth quarter but stalled when a fourth and long pass fell incomplete. Garrard twice took a knee and the game was over. Neither team was great but the difference was mistakes. Rockcastle County turned it over twice in the red zone, thwarting potential scoring drives. Garrard County was turnover free on the evening. Both teams, along with Estill County, are tied in the district with 2-2 records. The RPI tiebreaker will be implemented after next week's games, but at this point Rockcastle and Estill look to be 2/3 while Garrard is fourth and would open the postseason at Bell County. 1
RimRacker Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Quisenberry proving he is an issue for anyone. If Lions can get some consistency defensively they have a shot to win the district. Having Coach Perry back really helps the pride.
