I love the NBA. Wish we had more fans on here, but get it is not everyone's cup of tea.

Tonight the season gets going and it is compelling for a host of reasons. Some of the biggest story lines kicking off the year:

1) Kyrie. Will he end up retiring over the vaccine requirement? Looks as if his team has moved on. I have no clue what kind of value you can get for a guy of his skill set that is about 40% of the time either injured or missing in action because he marches to the beat of his own drum. Hard pass for me.

2) Ben Simmons. The drama of the Simmons saga is fascinating. Team goes public blasting him for his playoff performance, he demands a trade with several years left on his deal, but he is up against a management team that isn't going to acquiesce. I think Klutch thought they could bully their way with this situation, but they have not.

3) Westbrook in a Lakers uniform. It is crazy to see so many (past/present) all stars on a team, but that is what the Lakers have. The wildest of wildcards is Russell Westbrook. Having observed this guy for about 15 years, will he be able to control himself and not be Russell Westbrook? I can't wait for passive aggressive LeBron with his new teammate.

What else are you looking forward to?

76ers just suspended Simmons today.

Yep! It has begun!

Apparently Doc Rivers asked Simmons to jump in a defensive drill. He refused. He asked again, he refused. Doc sent him home.

It's going to be very interesting to see where he ends up.

I am going to try to get back involved with the NBA, I don't love it like bug, but I really like it.

Do we think those odds are a good representation of the NBA "preseason rankings?"

For the top three I do. The next 10 you could argue for any of those teams being in any order. The Warriors at 10-1 and Clippers at 16-1 seem a bit off. I would go 13-1 and 20-1, respectively. Both have major injury returnees they are relying upon to deliver the goods.

Will be out in LA in a few weeks.... just bought tickets for a Lakers/TWolves game! Super pumped to check out the house Kobe built, see my team (TWolves), and to see in person for the first time, the eighth best LA Laker ever.

Simmons is probably calling James Harden for advice on donut shops.
