Coach Brossart calls the same 3 or 4 pass plays and the same 3 or 4 running plays and thats his entire game plan, or lack thereof. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. As a football program and as a school, Dixie is historically very accepting of mediocrity. I can only assume they all have Bengals and Reds season tickets too.

You hit the nail on the head. The play calling is suspect at Dixie. This Dixie team is too deep and too talented to already have 3 losses. I've been to a couple of Dixie's games this year and there is alot of rumbling from the fans. This team is better than 3-3. The Highlands game was the best they looked all year, and he totally went away from running the ball.

I don't pretend to know Coach Brossart's play calling or know anything about his offensive system. I do know he is a class act and that team plays for four quarters unlike a few years ago. 255 yards on the ground doesn't sound like Dixie went away from the running game against highlands. Both the RB and QB were over or near the century mark in yards in that game. Half the teams they have played (Cooper, CovCath, and Beechwood) have really good defenses.

No is attacking his character.  Being a class act in your opinion is fine. Sounds like he is your friend. I'm just saying it's not on the kids. Dixie is deeper arguably all the teams they lost too.It's always on the head coach. That's any sport. The qb had many of them rushing yards because of a busted plays and the wrs being covered. Landers is a baller and can use his legs to get himself out of alot of busted plays. I know his jv and freshman get destroyed on the weekly. That's not a program getting kids ready for the next level. You can't defend that.

You can criticize play calling if you want but specific to this game, Dixie had costly penalties at the worst times. Illegal procedure penalties are a fair criticism of the coaching staff. But play calling I’m not so sure just yet. Don’t put a for sale sign in the Dixie Head coaches yard yet. The penalties backed them up a lot (especially on that last drive) and that for my money made the offense one dimensional. Which is why he had to throw. Nice to see two good coaches stick to their game plans and whoever blinked first lost.

Hey look I'm not the only one on this post that thinks the play calling is suspect. I was agreeing with another person on this post. But they did have illegal procedure call after the onside kick. They proceeded to throw two hail Mary's instead of working the sidelines. Not sure how many timeouts where left cause he burns them earlier also alot of times. I have nothing against the man, just calling it how I see it. I have no horse in this race. 

The only thing I would've questioned in this game was the 3rd and 4th down calls at the end of the game.  That play wasn't there all game, and they try to force it at the end.  Dixie is a much better team when they spread the ball around as they have the weapons to cause matchup problems.  They spread it around against BW, and that kept them in the game.  The mental mistakes cost them more than anything.  Busted coverage on the long TD pass.  The snap on 4th down when, I think, they were just going to try to get them to jump there towards the end of the 1st half.  Couple key penalties as mentioned above.

The Cooper and CovCath games were 2 games where I would really question the play calling.  They continually tried to force the ball to Hawkins and Holbert.  In most cases, especially against CCH, they were the only ones running routes.  They were the only 2 to have receptions other than Rohlman.  The Highlands games is a prime example of all of this.  8 different receivers caught a pass, and it was likely the same against BW.  When they spread it around, they're a much better team.
