As @TheDeuce said above, in preseason rankings last year has to be a big factor along with returning players and the educated outlook for the coming season. Say what you want about bias and Highlands being in the BGP top ten preseason, based on the first two games it looks like Highlands was ranked too low by BGP in their preseason ranking.

It looks like I may have been on to something in saying the bias associated with name Highlands is what helped contribute to that ranking to start off this season, even though their resume coming into the season wasn’t much. ?
 

Have to love high school football. So much can change in two weeks, and two weeks from now it can change again back the other way. It definitely should be a fun year this year in 5A and lots of movement up and down for many teams.
