Next up ~

St Henry at Cov Cath next Monday at 5:00.

Highlands hosts McNicholas (OH), Thursday at 5:00.

St. Henry, who "upset" Beechwood in the 9th Region "A" finals, obviously has the ability to  jump up and take out a top team..

Unfortunately, the Cru are nine games behind in posting their stats, not allowing a layman to see who the pitcher was that defeated the Red and White Tigers, and seeing if perhaps it was that same pitcher who took down the Birds.

With that being said, it also appears that the Birds are susectible to being knocked off by mere mortal teams this season.

Highlands will have the pitching horses by District.  They have at least 2 (one is the number 1 for sure and the other I would say is their #2)  that I know are just getting their first innings of the year.

Why haven't they been pitching yet?

My understanding is summer injuries.

...but the bats tho? Outside of high scoring outputs against some of the worst teams in the 9th Region, the Birds seem to be struggling offensively. Will that improve by the time we hit postseason or will the Birds be relying on the pitching to come you speak of?

Just giving a quick glance to the stats, it looks like they're averaging 4 runs per game against RPI top 100/quality teams and close to 9 against the lesser teams/RPI below 100. It looks like they're only real show of offensive explosion against a good team was against Brossart (RPI - 45) where they put up 12.

Agreed with the offensive issues
