Just like a school can't "blackball" an official.

In high school they can but in college they can't.

Does John Higgins officiate high school games?

Is the University of Kentucky now a high school?

You do wonder if the SEC, NCAA, or whoever assigns college basketball (not exactly sure how it works) might have made the decision to keep Higgins from UK games. Not necessarily a scratch, not a blackball, but maybe just a "better for all parties" type situation. I have no idea - just speculating.

That is what I was trying to say. He is not in the SEC so the conference games are not an issue but the big time games have to agreed on each year and I would think his name is not on the list for UK to approve? Probably best for all if he stays away as it might heut his roofing business?

Conference assigners/supervisors can.

Yes they know who is not wanted and no need to risk harm on someone that is not wanted
