Belfry learned the valuable lesson that you cannot beat an elite team when you are not playing clean football.

Pirates gave away their first possession of both halves with a fumble on a nice kickoff return and a fumble on the first play from scrimmage of the 2nd Half. Pirates threw in a third lost fumble for good measure and JC cashed all three in.

Both Mr. Football Candidates did their part. Dillon Preston was vintage form running downhill and breaking tackles. Dixon had "WOW" moments on both TD runs, just didn't get many opportunities to touch the ball with JC absolutely controlling the clock and Haywood conceding defeat late.

Hopefully Belfry got the fumble bug out of their system. Class 3A is still ripe for the picking as it may be the weakest class in the State.
